Rose Street is in Edinburgh's new town, one street north of Princes Street. Whereas Princes Street is a busy high street (it is edinburgh's high street) with many high street names, Rose Street has many smaller specialty shops. Part of Rose Street is a pedestrian zone, so it's a pleasant place to browse, it also has many pubs and a few pavement cafes, so it's a good place to take a lunch break.
